Sodwana bay has a biodiversity of marine creatures that compares
with the best in the world. The real beauty lies in the finer
detail of the reefs & is admired by divers around the
world.
Sodwana Bay is home to 1200 recorded species of fish &
continues to surprise, for example, new species of ghost pipe
fish & nudibranch, previously unknown have been discovered.
Also, there have been sightings of coelacanth in deep water
just 800m from shore.
From turtles to potato bass, cod, black tip reef sharks, barracuda,
whale sharks, emperor angelfish, trumpet fish, big eye soldier
fish, lionfish, rays, morays, clownfish, parrot fish and unicorn
fish. Drift along with large shoals of yellow snappers &
fusiliers. Sodwana is also home to hard & soft corals,
sponges & many other incredible invertebrates.
